XLEV8 EXCEL PRODUCT MANUAL

SAVE SHEETS TO PDF

Details

What it does
Uses a settings sheet (Save_Sheets_To_PDF) to save one or more sheets to one or more PDF files in one bulk step.

When to use it
When you need to save worksheets to individual PDF files or a combination of sheets within one or more PDF files, this is an efficient and controlled way to do it.

Why to use it
It’s an efficient and controlled way to save one or more worksheets to one or more PDF files.  In native Excel, you can only save one/multiple/all sheets to a single PDF file.  This allows you to save one/multiple/all sheets to one or more PDF files.  This macro works very well with other macros that perform steps in bulk.

Instructions
Run the the Save Sheets To PDF macro.  The first time you run it, it will create a sheet called Save_Sheets_To_PDF.  This is where you’ll specify which sheet(s) to save as PDF file(s).  These are the columns within the Save_Sheets_To_PDF sheet you’ll want to fill in:

  • Column A – Sheet Name (required): enter the sheet name to save.
  • Column B – PDF file path (required) – enter the folder path where the sheet PDF file should be saved.
  • Column C – PDF file name (required) – enter the PDF file name.  To save multiple sheets to the same PDF file, ensure the PDF file path and file name are the exact same (copy/paste is recommended) and set the sheet names in the order they should appear in the PDF file.

Note that often the PDF file path and PDF file name are linked to inputs (such as dates) with the file saved as a template for reuse over and over again.
