OPEN FILE FOLDER

Details

What it does
Opens Windows File Explorer and navigates to the folder containing the saved active workbook.

When to use it
When you want to see where a file is saved to copy the file or use other files in the same folder.

Why to use it
It’s an easier and quicker way to navigate to the folder containing an Excel file than manually opening File Explorer and clicking through several subfolders.

Instructions
From your active saved Excel file, run the Open File Folder macro.  It will open Windows File Explorer and navigate to the folder containing the saved active Excel file.  Note that if the active file is not yet saved, File Explorer will just open to your default location (generally My Documents).
