XLEV8 EXCEL PRODUCT MANUAL
BULK FILE COPY
Details
What it does
Uses a settings sheet (Bulk_File_Copy) to loop through a defined list of files to copy and pastes to the specified file path. Note – most file types can be copied, not just Excel files. While this is for copying and pasting entire files, the content of files can be copied in bulk using the Bulk Copy Paste macro.
When to use it
When you want to copy one file (or multiple files) to many different folders, such as a template file to many different departments or store locations.
Why to use it
It’s an efficient way to copy and paste a lot of different files (Excel and most others) within one or many different folders. This also ensures the files are named very specifically and consistently, which is required for many applications that work with Excel.

Instructions
Prerequisites
Identify the file(s) you want to copy from and the destination folder(s) / file name(s) you want to paste to.
Instructions
After you have identified the source file path(s) to copy from and destination folder/file name/path(s) to paste to, run the Bulk File Copy macro. The first time you run it, it will create a sheet called Bulk_File_Copy. These are the columns within the Bulk_File_Copy sheet you’ll want to fill in:
- Column A – Copy File Path (required): enter the entire file path of the file you want to copy. While this is usually an Excel file, most file types can be copied if allowable under your organization’s administration settings.
- Column B – Paste File Path (required) – enter the entire file path where you want to paste the copied file (including the new name to give the copied file). Note that the paste file path must have the same file extension as the copy file path.
