XLEV8 EXCEL PRODUCT MANUAL
AUTO NAV SHORTCUTS
Details
What it does
It automatically creates previous/next shortcuts for all direct subfolders within a user-provided path.
When to use it
When you want to quickly create shortcuts for all the subfolders in a hierarchy to ease navigation between them.
Why to use it
It’s a very quick way to create a lot of shortcuts (hundreds of shortcuts can be created in seconds) within a hierarchy. When you frequently navigate between the different folders (such as for different weeks, months, departments, etc.), the shortcuts created by this macro in just one step make that navigation much easier.

Instructions
Prerequisites
Identify the folder containing subfolders you’d like to create shortcuts for. Often these are days/weeks/months within a year, a list of departments, or anything else you navigate back and forth between often. Optionally, you can copy the file path of the parent folder of those subfolders to your clipboard (recommended).
Instructions
Run the Auto Nav Shortcuts macro. It prompts you for the path of the parent folder. If you have the parent folder path copied to your clipboard, it will be set as the default. When you click OK, shortcuts are created in each of the subfolders directly under the parent folder that lead to the previous and next folder, as sorted alphabetically.
Note: if you already have any shortcuts in any of these subfolders, you are prompted whether to delete those (making it easy to refresh them all).
