What it does<\/strong><\/span>
Shows an auto-complete search form that can be used to find and run any macro in the add-in, including custom macros and macros in the active workbook. Lets you set\/unset keyboard shortcuts and define favorite macros.\u00a0 For macro names suggested, displays category\/menu, description, help URL, and other details.<\/p>\n

When you want to search for a macro to run or set\/unset a keyboard shortcut.<\/p>\n

Why to use it<\/strong><\/span>
This makes it very quick to run macros, as an alternative to the XLEV8 ribbon, and gives you an easy way to set\/unset keyboard shortcuts \u2013 another way to run macros very quickly.<\/p>\n

    Run the Search Macros<\/strong> macro.\u00a0 It will prompt you with a search form offering you suggestions of macro names as you type.\u00a0 Use the up and down arrows (or click with the mouse) to select a suggested macro and insert the entire macro name in the search box.\u00a0 When the entire macro name is in the search box, press the Enter key to run the macro.\u00a0 When the entire macro name is in the search box, details of the macro are displayed \u2013 the keyboard shortcut (if any), category, description, and other details.\u00a0 The help URL is also displayed.<\/p>\n

    Press the Escape key to clear the search box.\u00a0 If the search box is empty when you press the Escape key, the search box will close.\u00a0 You can also clear the search box by pressing the X icon to the right of the search box.<\/p>\n

    There are four other icons to the right of the search box \u2013 three of them will sort the search results either ascending, descending, or in the order they were originally displayed.\u00a0 The far-right icon will toggle the search box to display all macros or only favorite macros.<\/p>\n

    If the active workbook contains macros, you can optionally include them with the search results.\u00a0 Just click the checkbox to the right of the search box (it will be saved for future use), then simply type part of the macro name in the search box.<\/p>\n

    With the entire macro name in the search box, you can also:<\/p>\n

    • Set\/unset keyboard shortcuts \u2013 enter a lower-case or upper-case letter in the shortcut box, then press Set to set the keyboard shortcut.\u00a0 When the letter displayed, press Unset to unset the keyboard shortcut.<\/li>\n
    • Set\/unset as a favorite macro \u2013 simply check the box to favorite it or uncheck the box to unfavorite it.<\/li>\n
